CLIMATE CHANGE BASIC'S

ETP LOGO 8.png

The Earth's climate is naturally changing, but human activities are accelerating this change.

We consume this planet and dump our toxins in our waters and atmosphere and we are destroying the planet at an alarming rate.

Man has now created his own Existential Threat

The burning of fossil fuels (coal, oil, gas)etc., releases greenhouse gases, like carbon dioxide, which trap heat in the atmosphere. This trapped heat is causing the planet to get warmer, leading to more extreme weather events (floods, droughts, heatwaves) Cancers and deaths for countless millions every year as a direct result of dumping our toxic waste irresponsibly.

Melting glaciers and ice are causing a rise in sea levels and soon places like England ''' will be under water!

Some of the other ways we are destroying our planet is; Deforestation.

Dangers of Deforestation:

Forests act like giant carbon sinks, absorbing and storing carbon dioxide.expand_more. When trees are cut down (deforestation), the stored carbon is released back into the atmosphere, worsening climate change. Deforestation also disrupts rainfall patterns, harms soil quality, and can lead to biodiversity loss.

Agriculture and Climate Change:

Agriculture contributes to greenhouse gas emissions through deforestation for land clearing, methane released from livestock, and nitrous oxide from fertilizers.

Sustainable farming practices that minimize deforestation, use cover crops, and manage manure can help reduce agriculture's impact.

Mono-Farming (Large-Scale Single Crop Farming):

Mono-farming simplifies ecosystems, making them more vulnerable to pests and disease. This can lead to increased pesticide use, which can harm soil health and pollute water. It also reduces biodiversity, which is essential for a healthy planet.

Single-Use Plastics:

Single-use plastics are a major source of pollution.

Systems. Reducing single-use plastics and choosing reusable alternatives is an important step towards a more sustainable living practices and reducing waste that ends up

in our oceans

...and the fish we eat.

These are just some of the basics.
